Well, generally fighting out of class will get you expelled immediately unless it was done in the spirit of self defence, and even in that, we will teach you to control the extent in which you inflict damage on another person, to the extent of the attack. However we do live in a violent unpredictable world, and mastering effective self defence, to be strong for ourselves, our families, children, loved ones is no longer an option. We will train you to make a defensive stand when stepping back is no longer a choice you can make, and how to identify situations where you can walk away without conflict
We train students from an average age group of 6-80. We did not accept students below 13 unless we ascertain on a case to case basis. As we progress in life, we become more tense due to stress, lose flexibility and have less time to exercise. Part of wingchun training is to train the reflexes, to engage the mind, and also to loosen up the ligaments, tendons and muscles so you can regain flexibility.
For those who need time to catch up, we teach Sil Lim Tao to enhance deep breathing and slow movements concentrating on the "Yi", intention to power the body over tense muscular tension. We also have catered programs for people who would like to lose weight and get fit
Wing Chun was actually created by a Nun and then passed on to Yim Wing Chun- a lady who needed to defend herself. The truth is that women tend to not want to do martial arts as much as men, but actually they might need it more than men in the realm of self defence. Statistics show that when women are attacked it is normally quite violent and not like male fights where its commonly about the ego, women tend to need simple and sometimes lethal self defence techniques to survive the attack against a stronger bigger opponent. Our training is catered for these purposes, and using traditional kung fu principles of striking with the whole body, relaxation to give weight to the strike and also proper body structure we will teach you the art of ving tsun self defence
Yes send me a text formally at 96957884 telling me who you are, your background, and I will arrange a slot for you to come by. We have only 1 slot/week a month to "view" our classes. Do not send me a SMS and not turn up, its about integrity and martial arts is not for the mere curious.
The best times to ask questions are before class or after. I do not interrupt class to talk. We forbid any video taping or recording (secretly or openly) of our classes, it is considered rude and unethical in martial arts. These are simple privacy issues and martial culture.
If you do come and do sit on the bench, so you will not interrupt training or be hurt by standing or sitting on the training ground.
Classes are conducted in english, cantonese and mandarin
Our trainings are conducted in sessions of 1.5- 2 hrs consisting of warm ups, techniques, drills and forms. Depending on the ability of the class, we may do combat training consisting calisthenics, short runs and skipping and various boxing and muay thai exercises that train reflexes and hand eye coordination during the class or at the end of the class. We also used improvised weapons to teach self defence e.g a padded stick, ropes, keys

Sparring is optional and is done with protective gear- a combination of hand wraps, mouth guards, head guards, body pads, groin guards, shin guards and gloves. Equiprment is personal and will require one to purchase their own for hygiene reason. Not everyone gets to spar and we monitor the students for aggression and health and psychological signs that they are not suitable for this module of training.

Training is sheltered but we prefer to train outdoors because its better for breathing and perspiration. I have never met a muay thai champion, boxer, soldier, warrior who was trained in an indoors air-con environment. Training in proper terrain simulates actual self defence conditions.
